Alex’s Blue Matrix Acropora

We first saw this incredible Acropora while it was being held by James of Aquascene. This is without a doubt one of the most brilliantly colored staghorn corals. It also has spectacularly shaped scaly corallites. The colony was originally acquired by Alex Paguntalan and it was exported from Bali. Aquascene was holding the colony for Alex while some work was being done on his reef. John Susbilla of Exoticreefs called the coral the Blue Matrix. Reeffarmers is assuming this is due to the brilliant sky blue coloration of the corallites and due to the resemblence that the curved corallite edges have to the characters that appear on the Matrix movies computer interface screens.
