When we first examined the image of the Green Hornet Acropora, we realized that it was an unusual and exotic coral. And when we saw the coral in person, its uniqueness was very apparent. Branch stems are a bright purple, which becomes very extensive near the branch ends. This gives the coral a purple tipped appearance with an unusual twist. Corallites are bright lime green and their coloration also occurs within the purple tip area. The large branch end axial corallites also develop a green corallite edge.
