The Sol Amarillo Acropora has brightly colored tips that contrast very sharply with its branch stems. The tips have a primarily yellow coloration that can vary to yellow green and to green. Branch stems are primarily colored cream white. However additional purple blue pigments can also develop on branch stems and it is not known if that color can develop more extensively. Polyps extend during the day and their coloration varies from light green to light yellow green. Photo and text courtesy of Reeffarmers.
