I've got a bunch of these little whiteish things in my sump that have feathers that come out of them like a tube worm or somthing. They feel spongy to the touch and are attached to the sides.

Sorry I don't have a picture but, they are so small I don't think I could get a good picture anyways.

Any ideas? Good or bad?

Do they look like little grains of rice with fan tops on them, or are they more like stalks with feathers on the end. I've got both in my tank. The little rice grain things are a type of sponge. They seem to grow wherever there is low or no light and decent circulation (so the sump is a good location for them). They're good to have, as they'll just add more filtration to your tank. If they are more like hairs or stalks with feathery ends, I'm not sure what they are, but I've got these too. The ones in my tank look for all the world like some sort of hydroid (which makes me a little nervous). I've been watching their progress carefully to try and determine if they're harming anything. So far, so good.

You know, I read this hitchiker section almost daily, and it seems that I've got almost everything good that anyone has ever seen. I guess I just got lucky, and got a really diverse population in on my live rock. Last night, for instance, I saw my first medusa worm swimming around the tank. Man, that thing was cool
