Crab ID

I found this guy about a month ago. He never seems to leave his little cave and only makes himself visible at night. He has those ominouse red eyes that shout: "I'm gonna kill yer fish!!!". However he hasn't killed anything to my knowledge as of yet. The tank is a year old.

As to whether or not it'll kill your fish, I can't say. However, according to Dr. Shimek, almost all (including hermits!) tend to be omnivorous, meaning they will eat just about anything. A case in point is a crab I had that was very "innocent" until I put some xenia in the tank. He raced out with the lights on, grabbed the xenia and hauled it off to its little cubby hole and chowed it down. I'd consider any crab as a threat. (However, it will also clean up the carcass of a dead fish so it may not necessarily be a bad thing!)
