OK, can anyone ID this coral/anemone type creature? I have had this on the same position of the rock since I bought the rock piece many months back. The button polpys around it during the light hours, completly cover it, but as it gets dark, this thing comes and out stretches out. I havent got a clue as to what it is. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Looks like a mushroom, possibly a "bulls-eye". Kinda unusual that it's fully outstreched at night, mine shrink some during nightime hours.

I'm guessing what is typically called a rock anemone...

Likely some type of anemone. Keep an eye on it and make sure it doesn't start to proliferate. Some can be trouble. It looks like it's irritating the polyps around it. I'd hate to have those all over my tank as happens with some problem anemones.

Yeah, that's an anemone. I brought one home as a hitch hiker once. I kept a close eye one it, but it didn't do much of anything for a while. Then all the sudden, I started finding babies here and there.
