I have had this since I bought these mushroom coral. This patch looks just like fruit mold. That's the best way I can describe it. It has what look like micro-feather dusters coming out of it which are covered in a gel and it's light blue/gray and the outer gel is transparent. It doesn't wave much with the moderate current that passes over it and appears to be growing steadily but rather slowly.

Any guesses?

That pic is way too dark. Maybe it's my monitor. Can you try shining a light on it? My guess would be some type of sponge.

Mooner,

I can't see the mold that you are talking about, but I must warn you to be careful about posting pics of a basket star. Seamaiden and Matt Wandell will make fun of the poor little thing to no end.

Will do. I have some new lights today to make it much more visible. As soon as the wife gets home with my digi cam I will post more pics.

Thanks.
