It's hard to tell, but I'm guessing a species of
Eriphia sp., possibly Eriphia smithi. The red eyes and claw structure lead me to this conclusion. This genus isn't really reef safe and I'd remove it. They don't get too large, but yours is probably a small specimen which will grow 2-3 times its size. They feed on molluscs and small inverts and so may prey on clams.

I'm not sure on the ID, but the claw structure would concern me. If you can bait/trap it, I recommend you remove it. It's not going to immediately wreck anything but may be a problem down the line.

Hope that helps. If someone has a different opinion, lemme know ;)

Yours looks similiar to this one I pulled out. This one is a Xanthid of some sort, and not reef safe. Still got one more to evict, and I can't wait to serve him his notice.

The greenies might spank me for this, but I just take down unwanted pests to the water when I walk my dog and toss them in.

I figure they deserve to live if they can survive the instant plunge into the toxic sludge water that is Byscayn Bay.
