Serial Snail Killer!

checking my tank toward i noticed the 3 periwinkle snails that i bought last
at the bottom of thank. upon closer examination i found that the shells were there but there was no sign of the snails inside 8O .
does this imply that they were eaten?
or is it that they died and the clean up crew ie worms and hermits, took care of them?

They were most likely eaten by the rest of your clean up crew. Whether they were killed by something or just died because of poor water quality...who knows.
