Ok these things only exist in my refugium. And I'm a bit curious as to what generic species they could be, and if they should be of concern.

They have a clear plastic like film similar to that of certain jellyfish when they wash up to shore, and the piece that worries me some tenticle like structure inside it.

looks like a form of aptasia
if it's in your sump i wouldn't worry

If it is an Aiptasia, even if its in the sump it wouldn't stop it from spreading to the main. They are capable of detaching themselves, floating and then going up the return flow piping. And seeing as it usually takes a pump to return, they would be shreaded into hundreds of Aiptasias by the impeller.

Yah I'm not quite convinced on aptasia either, those tenticle looking things aren't outward (like an anemone) they're actually in the same plane as that plastic like film attached to the rock.

Hmm hope I find out before I move my tank, need to know if I have to scrub that down or what :)

Does it bell out and move in the water column? It sorta looks like an upside down jelly...Cassiopei sp. except it isn't fully round....how large is this critter?

No its stuck to the glass, it is practically 2 dimensional (ie its flat), I did touch one today and it did feel a tad squishy though :) ITs about the size of a dime

I can try, but no promises.. its really a pain in the ass because its mostly translucent and so small, even in macromode (which is the pic I did above) there's not much more detail to be seen.

It could be in the early polyp stage of a Jellyfish. I second the more pictures if you can.

Could be from a floridapets.com order I did of their "bag o' pods" and macro I got.. *shrug*.

They are frequently freeswimming (medusa) early on in tanks from live rock... thats how they spread around the tank. I've seen them come and then go in a matter of a few weeks if thats what they truly are.

I say watch it over a week or two or three. See what changes occur... if it grows a stalk and well defined tentacles or not.

BTW- I have also seen sponge growth's that start in that same manner... the "tentacles" could be nothing more than pores. Hard to say.

Well I do see something that grow out from the glass, sort of like a stalk, but none of them have any tenticles like an aptasia or other anemone, I don't know if its the same critter though.
