Not to be a smartass, but they look like a tubeworm and a clam of some sort. Both harmless.

Your T. crocea looks a little unhappy. How long have you had it?

(The flower pot does not look too happy either....)

Look more like a crocea, but can't tell absolutely.

Well, on the far left it looks like the skeleton of a dead Euphyllia coral. The tube does not look like a fanworm. Does it create a mucus thread or net to capture food?

John, are you thinking a vermetid snail?

I thought the clam was the yellow thing just under the edge of the mantle on the right side of the tridacna shell.

It could be T. maxima, I suck at ID'ng clams for certain. The shell looks like a crocea to me though.

If he's talking about the tube on the upper corner of the side of the clam's shell facing away from us, then it looks like the opening of a sea squirt to me. Of course there's the possibility that I'm completely off track :D

Mmmm, slight possibility, but it looks like the base of it is encrusted with algae. Also I think he would have mentioned there were two openings if it were a tunicate.

srry that I didn't mention that these photos were taken when I jus on the lights if not I would not be able to get those two by the side of my clam, here is a photo after the light was on for about an 10-15mins or so.

I'm pretty sure that is a T. crocea. And the gaping of the incurrent siphon is not a good sign.

I dont think it looks like it is gaping too terribly. The crocea's at my store, when they have gaped, you will definatly know it. I also think the quality of the pic does not give the clam justice.

hmmm ok but what can I do to improve on that?

Maintain high Ca/Alk/pH, high light, good water conditions, and high light. Otherwise fairly easy. Sit back and watch them grow. :D

Matt, I could be way off, but I dont think that clam looks too bad...and what do you mean by incurrent siphon? But I think the Calcium is low, I dont see any white growth on that shell from the first pic.

But to answer your question....Oceans is correct I think. That looks exactly like the little pineapple lookin tunicates that I have everywhere in my tank.. Would give you a picture if I had a digital camera. Anyways, I dont have the first freakin clue what is on stuck on him on the left side of that pic, looks like a tubey worm, but can't be for sure. Regardless, I've never known any parasites on clams other than those little white rice lookin buggers that get attached to the shell. I know this aint exactly techinical terms, but you get the drift.
