I think I got this algae as a hitchhiker from the Caribbean.
It's gorgeous, seems very plastic-like and grows at a good pace: the
difference between the two pics is about one months...

It seems that is has some potent chemicals as it cleaned some nearby
red hair algae in no time (I was getting ready to clean it myself to
avoid harm to the nice algae, but it took care of itself).

Any idea what's that and how I can "frag" it?

Thanks,
Mihai

Clip some off, bag it, box it, put heat pacs in with it and send to me for identification. I'll get back to you on what it is :D

In all seriousness why not just clip a little bit off and see how it does? I'm sure a little clip wouldn't hurt it, besides, at the rate it's growing your going to have to prune it sooner or later

I'll have to cut a clip - it's getting too close to the Acro frag in the back.

Couldn't find any google hits to either aprove or disaprove your info. Actually I have no hits for Frauchea...

Thanks
M.

It must be a cross between the two :).
Shape-wise it's like Ochtodes, but it is iredescent like Fauchea.

Thanks,
M.
