Active Reefer
I have these really cool, super tiny, red spikes coming out of my live rock. They are slowly multiplying. There was only one for weeks.
The are not worms because they never move. They look exactly the same at all times of the day and night.

Are these a type of foraminiferans? Mine don't look anything like the pictures I have seen.

I know my picture sucks but with the camera I currently have, it is the best I could do after many attempts.

(I also have an ID post about the spongy white/transparent globule to the right).

Hard to tell from that picture but my guess would be probably Foraminiferams ( harmless filter feeders, though it hurts if you get stuck by the little spikes ).

Hmmm...I have tons of these in my LR...couldn't for the life of me figure out what they are. Thought it was some kinda coralline from hell!!

Mine are red and some green..multiplying like crazy along with little dusters...

I hate getting stuck by these suckers. My finger always swells up and I get little blisters where each one popped me!
