Well the bigger pic is an Entacmaea quadricolor that looks pretty bleached. It may be able to recover if it's in good light and you feed it a bit. The bulbs in the tentacles are characteristic of the species.

I can't tell what the smaller pic is...

Hmm...interesting, because I thought they were pest anemones as they came with the live rock....there are about 7 anemones altogether, I wonder if they'll ever grow big.

Pretty cool. Not a pest unless they bother you, right? That is, where I live, it's tough to grow grass, and there are large patches of dirt, so when the crab grass comes in, it's a friend, not a pest.

Yeah, I'm about 99% sure that largest one is E. quadricolor. I suppose it could be a very large, very oddly shaped Majano anemone, but I doubt it.

I'd say it's a bubble tip. The pest I think you were refering to is tan to light brown in color.

It looked like your hitchhiking bubble tip is bleached pretty bad.

IMO the majority of hitchhikers aren't pests. They are either beneficial to denitrification process, or even better, they are something someone else purchased at a LFS.

My favorite thing about this hobby is inspecting my LR with a flashlight and magnifying glass for hours looking for new life. From the many, many, things that have crawled out or grew out of my LR, I have yet to come across a pest. Well that is an actual enemy of the reef, I realize the word "pest" can be subjective.
(I'm such a dork that it fascinates me to the point that I'll drive more than an hour away to different LFSs just to stare and inspect the LR in display tanks).

I get excited for other's "findings" too and your anemone is probably one of the coolest hitchhikers I've seen! Make sure you read up on them to assist their survivial. Those are way too cool to let go. Congratulations!

I think they are all BTA's ... (not rose colored) .. but just normal BTA's .. I 'm not sure they are bleached.. I think just small and young. Set the guys in decent current and good lighting.. not toooo strong though. My BTA crawls under rocks to hide from my halide pendant and is very content. very cool :) congrats

I agree with Matt..E. quadricolor...Bleached..needs good lighting and meaty food to regain their color...
RondaGP I agree...I find many things..I found in late december a young brittle star in mantis tank..must have been in there for months..and in pico tank i found another baby brittle..total diameter must be that of a small button on a shirt..That will have to be removed one day as it will far exceed the limits of a tank less than one US gallon
