ID please

I added some new live rock to my 65 gallon tank a couple of months ago and now I have some weird brown crusting stuff on one. When I cured the rock it had a few spots of brown tuff stalks of some type of algae. I ripped it off and scrubbed them down to quarter sized patches. It is the same brown but now it is creeping though and not growing up into stalks. What is this crud?:?

I have this too.....ANY idea what eats it?? I have tangs, urchins, snails, ect......nothing will eat it.
