We got this guy on a piece of live rock.. He appears to be a clam of soem sort. He reacts when you go near him by shutting up and such. He appears to be permanntly affixed to the rock though, theres no way I see of him being able to detach at all....

Also. What are the little red things around him. The look like small red cactus coral pieces, and they've spread all over the tank, favoring darker areas. Any idea?

Thanks!
Lexi :D

The red critters look like Foraminiferans the other is too blurry to say what exactly it is, could be clam, oyster, mussel, scallop, etc.

So are the Foraminiferans a good or bad thing? Will they hurt anythign? Are they a sign that soemthign is out of balance in the tank?

Forams are normal.

All I can tell about the critter is that it's a bi-valve. Sorry...
