I n a bag of corals I just bought I have two new critters:

1. A small (4mm) star kinda with 6 stuby legs, kinda shaped like the Star of David. It's reddish brown in color.

2. a snail like critter, but with an open shell (like half a clam shell). It's brownish black.

They are still in the bag. Put them in? Or not a good idea?

Hard to say without pics. Does the star have uneven arms? If so, asterina. Does the snail look something like this? http://www.reefcorner.com/SpecimenSheet ... _varia.htm They come in all sorts of color variants.

Yeah, I put the stomatella in and threw out the star. The star may be harmless, but I didn't want to risk it surviving to multiply a thousand times over. Thanks guys.
