New Reefer
Hello Everyone,

I posted this on two other forums with no luck. Any help in identification would be helpful.
The first one: This guy is about 5-6 inches long. He feels like a rubbery snake and partially deflates at night. He waves in the current during the day. Last couple of weeks he has grown an arm.

The second one: This coral is hard and also deflates at night. He has tiny pores all over his body.

Thanks a lot for the help. Just wondering what type of lighting and water flow requirements do these corals have?

Moderate light and flow. Leathers are rather hardy. They do well under VHO, T-5 and power compact lighting. They also do well under Metal Halide, but is not considered necessary. For flow I would suggest 20x tank volume an hour throught a combination of return pump and other pumps/power heads. Minimum would be 10x tank volume per hour.

Thanks a lot for the help. The expand and contract with the lights. Is that considered normal? Also I am assuming that they are photosynthetic so I dont have to feed them anything more.

Yes that is normal. Leathers generally expand during the day and contract at night. I have never feed any of mine.
