I found this worm clinging to the glass the other day. It's white without any real distinguishing marks. It's slightly thicker than a spahgetti worm and about 2-3 inches long. It appears to be grazing either algae on the glass or copepods (this was the day before cleaning day). What is it?

Is it segmented like an earthworm or bristleworm, or is it completely smooth?

Well, it looks a lot like an earthworm with a simple, pointed head. It's not obviously segmented (but it is very small too) and it seems to grip well to glass. It moves like an earthworm too, expanding and contracting on itself.

If it is segmented then it's a polychaete of some kind. If it's not segmented then it could be a whole lot of things, a nemertean, an echiuran, who knows. So that's probably the key characteristic to figure out before we go any further ;)
