tree growing on a rock?

I picked this up and was wondering if anybody can tell me what it is? How it grows? And what it does? :?

Looks like a dead grogornian. it doesnt grow

looks like a gorgonian of some sort to me to.

LOL, i didnt think about that. it doesnt have any poors for the feeders to retract into. i have always saw the Gorgonians by themselves not attached to a rock. thank you guys
