Anyone want to take a shot at IDing this little S&*! that's been wreaking havoc in my tank for the past 6-8 months? I've yet to see it out and about, elusive little *******.

Crab molt - all that I ever see of a molt anyway. Just claws.

I've got one too! It stays in the LR and seems to be afraid of fish.

I'm hanging on to see what the resident experts come up with. :D

It looks a lot like the big guy in my tank. Mine stays away from the fish and only seems to eat algae off the rocks and leftover food. He is however very particular about the arrangement of things in the tank and if he doesn't agree with my placement will just move stuff.

Dead crab. 8) My bicolor blenny enjoyed his snack.

And just to be sure it was indeed dead crab, I yanked it and broke open a claw. Definitely dead crab. Woo!

Yes, nice pics, Sugar :)

And congrats! Cheers! I raise my glass and sip my beer in celebration of the death of your crab

I think I may have one of those guys on my rock. Hasn't killed anything yet (to my knowledge anyway.)

Should I be worried?

Umm...YES! Did you happen to see the snail shell cast off's that the crab left in a crevice in my live rock? Scroll back up and check out the mess. In with the empty shells are a couple of montipora digitata frags and one long dead ricordea colony that he dragged into his crevice. He left a pile of empty shells in the back corner of the cube too. I guess those were too far from his home to drag across the tank.

Now I need to go buy more snail to replace the 25 (low estimate) or so various types that the damn crab snacked on.
