Wierd thing on glass.

This is not a very good pic, but this orange, vein like looking thing is growing on the glass in my 7g. The live rock in there is Walt Smith and is from Fiji.

Since the shot is so bad, I'm hoping it will help with my verbal description (I have no camera with a macro lens). This thing looks like a tiny network of orange veins. It grows on the glass and seems to have some transluscent roots growing out from the ends of the veins.

Any ideas?

From what you're describing it sounds like it could be Timarete spp. though from that picture it doesn't look like it. I wouldn't worry about it though.

Found some images of what you were talking about David, this definitely does not look like that.

It looks a lot like the tube worms I have in my sump, but the orange color is very unusual. I'm used to seeing tube worms with white tubes.
