Help I have some experince with marine tanks but not much with corals and my question is about some new coral that i recieved this week. it was in poor condition when i recieved it, all of it looked dead but i accilimated it and added it to my 12g nano tank. it was glued to some plugs about 1 1/2 inches tall. how do i get it off of the plugs so i can glue it to my live rock? it will not stay up and one got damaged when it fell over. please help?

What are they? Can you let them adjust to your tank before pulling them off the plugs?

Yes i guess i could let them adjust for a while and try to keep them from falling over. most of them are polyps, Green Centered Zoanthid, Yellow Polyp, Green Star Polyp, Pink Acropora, Green Ricordia.

For all except the Acropora you can place the plug on its side on a hard surface and cut most of it away with a chisel. Leave some of the plug attached to the coral so you can glue it where you want.

The Acro needs a more delicate treatment or the branches might break off. I'd suggest cutting away most of the plug with a dremmel of a hacksaw.

Hopefully, someone else will list additional options.
