This is more of a celebration than anything lol but I have a few questions also. Had a hitchhiker Mantis Shrimp come along in a large shipment of LR and been about 2 months of trying to catch him. He was too light for the trap......too elusive for the net....and then today finally got him in there by pole feeding and a little creative netting. Happen to be currently setting up a seperate 20g and was undecided as to which way i'd go with inhabitants. Anyone have any experience with mantis shrimp species tanks that could offer advise in general or possible other inhabitants he could coexist with.

Thanks,
Chris

If its a joe shmo' run'o the mill flush it or give it away.
If its a Peacock mantis or one of its more colorfull cousins ,I would trade it or sell it or keep it. There are ALOT of people that are always looking for mantis shrimp believe it or not.
Especialy on Nano-reef.com .

There are several members that have mantis tanks, ask them on the general discussion forum, they'll help you with ideas! Also do a quick search and read the background.

I have a mantis in my sump. He is really cool. This might shock a few people but he actually lives in there with a pistols shrimp and goby. I've had him for about 18 months now and he's never attacked anything much bigger than a cocepod rofl, but having said that i do make sure he gets a frozen fish to himself every two weeks. There are two different types "bashers" and "spearers" mine is a basher which i think is why I have less trouble from him and he is only about 3 inch even now so I dont think hes gonna be growing any more, but some can grow to a foot long.
They are definatley worth a tank of there own great little characters :)
My friend has one in a globe on the bar in his hotel.
