Experienced Reefer
I recently bought some maidens hair macro algae for my refugium. I did not have room in the refuge so I put it in the main tank (50). Just today I saw what looked like lines of bright neon green, orange, and a little blue. This feather duster was sticking out of a hole in the rock, and when I touched it it receded. Unlike a feather duster however, this creature went back with its tube, instead os sucking into its own tube. The neon colors can only be seen when looking a the "feathers" from eyelevel. This macro algae was grown in the ocean and I got it from aquacon, which has very poor custumer service, still trying to get them to fix a shipping mistake. Anyways, has any one ever heard of something like this. I don't have a good camera at all but I'm going to try and borrow one so I can post some pics...

Sounds like it could be the tentacles of a worm. They commonly have a metallic rainbow type sheen to them.

Thats a total guess based off of your description, more details and/or pics would help.
