Experienced Reefer
Hello again.
I wondered if anyone knows anything about these crabs (spider looking). I went on a late night hunting trip and found one of these hiding in a hole of one of my live rocks. I didn't come up with any answers during my research. I just want to know if they're safe in a tank.

Reason why I asked is that I have yellow polyps on the rock this crab was in. I started with 3 polyps and soon got a new growth to make it 4. Long story short, now I'm down to 2 polyps. It is a fairly new tank, only about 7 weeks old, the water levels are good, alk is on the low side. Had a lot of brown algae before the water change.

Please help. Many thanks.

Most members of the family: Galatheidae feed on detritus, tiny planktonic and benthic invertebrates and dead organisms. They are considered reef safe and harmless to corals.
