Kinda hard to tell by what there is to get a scale from there, but it looks to me like you might have just bought a nice sized aiptasia... 8O

The mouth is less than 1/2 inch. The longest "arm" might be 3".

Yikes! - I dunno.. - Could go either way still.

Were there any small peppermint shrimp in the tank with it at the LFS?

I sincerely hope I'm wrong and it is a curly cue... - I wouldn't wish a monster aiptasia like that on my worst enem.... hmmm.. maybe I would... - NAAHHH!! Just kidding. :P

If it is though........ -WHOOOO... - That LFS would be on my list BIG time!

I don't really know. It looks sorta' like a Atlantic curly Q and sorta' like a tube/burrowing anemone to me. :?

Burrowing anemone:

Well it must have been aiptasia. I put a peppermint shrimp in the tank 2 days ago as part of my cleaner crew and this morning I awoke to the anemone almost all gone. The arms were 4 -5 inches last night, today the longest is maybe an inch (+ or -).
