I finally got this guy out of my scroll coral where he's been living for the last couple months. There are some dead areas on the coral, but it's really tough to tell if it's him or if I damaged it when I was putting it in the tank. Anyone have any ideas on what this may be and if it's reef safe? Sorry I didn't put anything down for scale, but his body is only around 1/8 inch long. From claw to butt in this picture is less than half an inch.

Many corals, well, every coral I have seen in the wild will house any number of small crabs, very few of which could be considered a real threat to the coral and most likely are only using the coral as a protected home, they also help fend off coral predators. Any damage to the coral was most likely caused by another source, although there are some crab species that can be harmfull.
