New Reefer
Hi All...

just setting up my first nano and am about 1 week in to the cycling, everything is looking nice and healthy now, most of my bristleworms died during the first week, but I just noticed this one today. At first I thought it was just a piece of green slime, it's about 12 " long and about 1mm wide, colour is bright green. Any ideas what it is?

Second ID is for the shrimp, I just saw him today as well, he's only 10 mm long, any ideas?? I thought maybe a baby pistol shrimp!

Thanks

:D

Your green worm is a phyllodocid polychaete. Members of the family include predators on smaller organisms (other worms mostly) and detritivores. They lack teeth and are not harmful to any type of coral. You're right, the shrimp is a pistol. Pistol shrimp, family Alpheidae, come in a variety of life styles & sizes. It may not get much bigger than it is already.
