New Reefer
Just noticed some bugs (alot of them) on a few of my rocks, recently added some live sand which could be the culprit. They are small and white, hard to see. Any ideas as to what they are? Also, are they harmful? I tried to get a good photo of them, sorry if it's a bit out of focus.

thanks!

I think those are Mysid shrimp (not mysis). Do they have 2 long Antennae? Crawl around alot too? Mandarins, Wrasses, etc. eat them. They're Harmless Scavengers.

Mysids swim, isopods for the most part crawl. Mysid legs are tucked under the body & not visible from above while munnid isopod legs are spread out on either side of the body just as in the photographs.

I have tons of those guys. They seem to have started in the fuge and made their way to the live sand bed in the main tank. At any given time, they are all over the lower glass near the sand. My Coral Beauty angel constantly roams the tank looking for these guys to munch on. He loves them! It's rare that I see them on the rock in the main tank, but they get all over the live rock in the fuge b/c there's nothing in there to eat them. Consider them free live food! They'll really take care of anything that dies, too.
