this was sold to me as a Trachyphyllia geoffroyi, but i think it resembles a Scolymia as well. :?

That’s an odd Trachyphyllia all the ones iv seen are 8 shaped (well not true I have seen one like that)...
I would go with Scolymia though.

Yes Trachyphyllia geoffroyi does come in a round shape form and can be confused with Scolymia and Cynarina. IMO i think that is indeed a T.geoffroyi
