I've been battling these things for about 4 months now... Everytime i think i have them beat i end up finding a few more. It had been about 3 weeks since i've seen one then on one of my colonies tonight i found 6!!! 1 large and 3 very tiny.

I'm hoping someone has some more advise for me on how to deal with them.

steps i take:
-freshwater dips
-revive
-remove egss
-quarantine
-have taken out all z's and p's for a dip in revive twice now. Even took out large pieces of liverock for this process.
-cut up larger colonies infected to make sure eggs were removed.

Is there something i'm missing here? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

add a yellow coris as they eat these and will help get it in check, for me i always do fw temp adj dip with a drop of iodine and use a turkey blaster and blast away on the colonies to knock anything loose, trust me these are easier to deal with then monti eating nudi's a melanaruas sp ? works very well also

I'm going to have to try the flatworm exit tomorrow. In the articles it says you DON"T have to do a water change. Anyone actually done this process before? I think with the flatworm exit its probably a wise idea to follow the treatment with a large change.

The problem isn't the ones that you see it's the eggs. I have had the Monti eating Nudi's and the only thing that helped was garlic dips and getting a Yellow Coris wrasse and a Melanarus Wrasse.

Ya I usually inspect the polyps i find the nudis on. the eggs aren't that hard to see/remove. I haven't lost more than a polyp here and there to them. Just tired of finding one after not seeing anything for weeks. Then tonight to find 6 of them after not seeing any for close to a month.

Melanarus Wrasse worked for me. Yellow Coris did not. turkey baster manual removal. coralrx works great too for those you can dip.

the flatworm exit is not the best answer it takes like 4x normal dose to kill them and doesnt get the eggs.. its like surgery with a shotgun.. just not worth it..

I beat them (nock on wood) with just the turkey baster and the M.wrasse who is wsome anyways and now one of my favorite fish.

Ya kind of the route i've been taking. How long did it take you to get rid of them?

Anyone know if I'll have trouble with the melanarus or yellow coris along with a fairy wrasse?

heres a link to a pic of the one i have:

to be honest I was shocked at how much the zoa's seemed to like the coralrx. only ones that didnt tolerate it well where the purple death palys. they didnt like it at all and I only dipped them one time because of that. It smells like death but the corals looked way way better after the first dip.

I have a lubboks fairy wrasse and they both seem to tolerate each other well. no problems there.

It took me about 3months of turkey baster blasting every other day. the wrasse realy went to work on em though I added him about 4 weeks ago. you can see him obviously searching among the zoa's for nudi's.

for whatever reason my clownfish will not tolerate any yellow fish.. so the yellow wrasse may have done the same job but with my clownfish it never got the chance. poor thing :(

I think any of the dips will work just fine for the initial infestation, after that its more of a manual thing. bonus is the M.wrasse also eats flatworms so im told.

I did the flatworm exit using the recommended dosage on the box and then repeated a week later to account for the eggs that have hatched. It didn't get them all so I repeated these steps with double the dose and I haven't seen any in months. The treatments pissed off my coco worm, feather dusters and some zoa colonies, but everything survived. I was suspicious about my pod population dwindling because of the treatment so i added a large quantity of pods to my reefs2go order just in case.

Tank is a 29 gallon biocube.

i use it when a dip new corals
how big is your tank?

The tank i have the problem in is a 40B stocked with mainly z's and p's.

I dip everything before it is put in. I think the original problem came when i purchased some new live rock from another member here on MR. Didn't think to dip live rock and it caused me a huge pita.

I dip zoo's and LPS in Coral Revive. I have seen some lps get pretty beat up from coralrx after just a few minute dip. I have only put zoo's in it once and it was only for a few minutes. I use the coralrx on SPS. Before i dip revive on zoos i put them in a freshwater dip for about 10 minutes, then take them out of there into a revive dip for another 10-15. Then usually put them in my QT tank for a week before they go into the tank.

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions! I'm looking to find a melanarus wrasse to add to my tank. Let me know if anyone knows where i can find one. Still debating over using flatworm exit becase i haven't used it before. I have ordered some to have it on hand if i do decide to go that route. Hopefully i beat these pests in the near future!
