Pinched Mantle disease and Iron

What do you think? Is this a real problem with GFO? I'm asking this because I'm about to setup a GFO reactor on my system.

Much ado about nothing IMO. There are thousands, probably 10's of thousands of aquarists that run GFO and keep clams with no problem. The author of these claims sounds knowledgeable and he may be, but who the heck is he and why should you or I believe him? If he doesn't know what the pathogen is, how does he know it is iron dependent?
