Ok well i have recently added some more sps to my system and i have been dosing but i have been thinking since i change 10 gallons of my 39 gallon display tank with a 13 gallon sump weekly do i need to dose because i replenish the needed nutrients with the water changes. I use reef crystals by instant ocean. However should i pick up some more 2 part and magnesium to dose. Thanks and I don't know if i am totally thinking wrong but it was just a thought.

you need to test the new water to find out what the parameters are.
I use reef crystall salt by instant ocean too. I usually add or dose some alk to the new water before I do a water change so that they are very close to the level in the tank.

Calcium is usually very high in crystals by instant ocean so no need to dose.

What you need to do is test your levels daily, so that you know how much is used up on a daily basis. Then you will know how much you would need to dose on a daily basis.
Do not dose if you don't know how much you need to add.
