I use http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eGcpjeuHvBQ aka caulerpa taxifolia because it grows like weed and I figure if it grows fast. It's absorbing a lot of nutrients... right?

how did they control it? Did they use the nudibranches they mentioned in the video? Lol just like the case of the rabbit in australia....

I found a French article from 2011 where they say they just noticed it was recessing, but they were not 100% sure why. Several hypothesis: a couple of cold winters could have killed it; or the nutrients have been totally scraped from the soil; the fact that they all come from the same specimens (no sexual reproduction in its case) could have led to an "impoverished genetic material".

The result nevertheless is that 80% of the surface got "freed" from the peak invasion. Apparently now people are scared that C. racemosa will take over.
