I have to add something about organisms that use Magnesium: MANGROVES
Randy doesn't mention them but they are pretty good consumers.
Weekly check of mag. level is recommended if you keep some mangroves in your system (Source: Julian Sprung).

If someone keeps mangroves and is interested in a good mangrove article (pdf format), pm' me. I'll be glad to share!

I use Tech-M (Kent) to add mag. Having no troubles so far.
Running weekly test (Salifert) and dosing as indicated by Kent.
