I got a Blue Jaw yesterday. LFS said its a male.

I put him with my unsexed Red Tail. Surprisingly, they got along from the get-go and even spend time swimming around together.

I will not even be attempting breeding them, its just cool to see them together and then it dawned on me is my Red Tail a boy or a girl? He's twice the size of my blue jaw.

Any way to diferrentiate Red Tails' sex?

Both of those species are sexually dimorphic. Sexing them should take all of two seconds or a google search for pics.

Size is also an issue since smaller individuals will most likely not have much color until they mature or turn male.

Males will leave you with no doubt. If it's dull or not significantly colorful in the body it's probably a female.

I should have specified my Red Tail trigger is from the ATLANTIC:
Sargassum Trigger (Xanthichthys ringens)

I forgot some of the other species with red tails like the Crosshatch (a Pacific trigger) you linked, are sometimes called Red Tailed.

I guess there is no way to sex X ringens?!
