Hi guys,
A couple of months ago, I noticed that a Stylophora I have in my tank had some sort of "gravel house" built on it. I assume it is a worm, but I left all options open in terms of identification.
I used fine tweezers to remove the newly created "house" which appears to be a mix of my gravel and of mucus. Its diameter is about 3mm. The coral was bleached underneath, but tissue came back pretty fast.
However I did not manage to kill the animal, as it was able to rebuild over and over again, till it apparently disappeared.
But it made a come back last week right in the middle of a zoa colony, and appears to irritate it. (polyps are not opening, a couple have died).
Does anyone have any experience with something similar? And is there a way to remove it completely?
Thank you.
