Tonight I did my weekly test, and my calcium came up really high. I use salifert, and I actually ran out of test solution in the syringe, so its more then 500. After the syringe ran out of regent, I added about 10 more drops before the water turned blue (this makes more sense if you know how the salifert test work.lol). My PH is fine and the alk is fine too. Don't have mag test (it's on order). Corals seems fine, pumps seems fine, my skimmer is not working properly (but that's because I added peroxide). Other then the fact that my cal is high everything seems normal. I read on other forums posts about high calc and the general consensus is that high calcium is not good. It would be nice to see what are your levels.

I thought i was testing wrong, or my test might be defective. Well I tested ro/di water and its correct 20ppm. But freshly mixed salt water is about 520-540. I tested it with two different test kit, I have the salifert (which i thought was defective)and I tested with api calcium kit that I had laying around, both came out the same. I think it's my Instant ocean salt. Since I got that salt, my phosphate went up and I guess my calcium went up. I tested somebody else's water and it was correct, so the test kits are accurate.

Hey boomer the reason i said water was 20 is because as soon as i dropped a drop of regent into the test water, it changed color. so its probably zero. You are saying that Instant Ocean had a bad batch? I am gonna give them a call on Monday ( i doubt they are open tomorrow). Thanks for the info.
