I need to do more research may have to consider other brand or method...

RC Member has mention
- since 2006 the level of bromide increased quite a bit and can be of concern when it accumulates, and
- that recently Dow sold its business and nobody knows what its newer formulation is.

I don't like the idea with the increase in bromide - I don't do enough water changes to prevent accumulation; I'm a bit concerned about the unknown formulation too, so I'd like to stay away from Dowflakes.

What about the other options listed in Randy's improved recipe article:
"Dow Mini-Pellets, Kent's Turbo Calcium, Prestone Driveway Heat or Peladow Calcium Chloride"
Are all from Dow (and hence increased bromide)?

here's the thread...http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1527547&highlight=dowflake

Mo, since you saw our piece on RC I do not think there is any real issue. But as you will see it you want some non-bromide salt go with Tetra, a company I brought up in a older thread when all this started.
