Every tank is different man, inhabitance, water chemistry, lighting etc. Some Lps can tolorate very high nitrates while some can not. I think +/-10ppm with 25ppm as border line.

My nitrates at 35 ppm could this cause corals to not grow as fast?

How can I lower this without a Refugium?

I do weekly %10 water change. I'm looking into alternatives like going BB ( take out all sand) or something else

I know a sump Refugium would be ideal but my tanks isn't drilled and I'm afraid to use the eshopps overflow box. Even though I bought it lol

Try %20 weekly and feed less...Over the years i've realized that having a refuge in the home make no significant dent into nitrate unless you feed very little. A large refuge with lots of Macro algae, caulerpa etc. will help some but most people don't have the space for such a build.

It's only a 34 gallon solana tank a Refugium wouldn't have to be that big but again it's not drilled ( big mistake ) now I'm paying for it.

Maks is your nitrate steady or climbing slowly? Go fo a couple 20-50% changes to get it down. If it keeps coming back up clean your tank better, feed less, lose some fish. If you want to maintain artificially look into vodka/vinegar/pellets. Sps could certainly do poorly in 35ppm not sure about zoa/lps/softies depends but i've seen poor reaction when levels start to rise

go BB first, increase water flow, feed less.
