I?m trying to figure out my weekly alkalinity consumption and am running into a wall with the number conversations.

I?ve been using B-Ionic and the Hanna checker to do this. Last week my Alk measured at 154PPM or 8.624. Today it measured at 140PPM or 7.84.
Using the information in Johnny?s sticky I subtracted 7.84 from 8.624 and got 0.784. I then divided that number by 7 and got 0.112.
I alternately subtracted 140PPM from 154PPM and got 14PPM. I divided that by 7 and got 2PPM/day.
It seems like my daily consumption is 2PPM per day or 0.112 per day, but I am having trouble figuring out what I should be dosing per day in milliliters.
It would seem that the numbers are telling me that my daily dosage is less than 1ML per day?? Total water volume is 155 gallons so that seems low.
2PPM x 155 = 310PPM, which converts to .31 ML.
Am I missing something??

Thanks everyone.

154 ppm or 8.624 what? I assume you are referring to two different units of measure for the same measurement, yes?

B-Ionic instructions:

Component A - Carbonate Alkalinity: 2800 meq/liter (7840 dKH). 1 ml per gallon of aquarium water will raise alkalinity by 0.74 meq/liter (2.07 dKH).

This would mean to increase dKH by 0.8 for 1 gallon would require (0.8/2.07) ml of Component A or for 155 gallons 60 ml. Over 7 days that is 8.6 ml per day.

I assume your instructions match these. Hope this helps.
