putting skim mate from one tank to a freshly started tank

i have a new tank that i just filled wondering if adding skim mate from my other tank to the new tank will help with cycling any input?

Can you take a piece of live rock from your existing tank and place it in the new tank? I personally would not put skimmate inside of a fresh new tank.

If you cannot take a small piece of rock from your existing setup I would use the shrimp method to cycle the new tank.
