I have been seriously thinking of switching to this type unit over my RO unit. From the testing that I have personally done on my city water source have come up quite acceptable. 0 phosphates,0 N03, less than .5mg/L Silicates. The silicates are really my only concern.(of coarse chlorine). Will this unit (Kati Ani) take out silicates and any possible phosphates. Your input would be appreciated.

A DI column will take out phosphate and most silicate. It will also take out nearly all other charged compounds, including most copper and other metals. It may not take out chlorine or chloramine.

What about those Poly Bio Marine units that are advertised to replace RO units? Are what they are cracked up to be?
