Ph and Calcium chloride

I am still trying to adjust my cal and alk with calcium chloride and my reactor. I finally got my alk down to 10dkh and calcium up to 380ppm. Today for some reason my PH was up to 8.6 at the end of the light cycle when it normally stays around 8.4 with 8.5 being the absolute hightest. Could the calcium chloride be doing this? I thought calcoum chloride had the opposite reaction though.

No, calcium chloride will not raise pH in a marine aquarium. But reduced alkalinity reduces the buffering capacity of the aquarium, so that might be why the pH has risen.
