Hey Randy just read your article on the two part additive. Great reading. It is quite similar to what i have already been doing. I dose baking powder in the evening and CaCl as required. i add epsom salt also as required. at first i was testing for all three of these values before adding anything and over time by keeping the same maintenance routine i only test once a month or if the tank looks like it is going south. My methods differ from yours. My alk i use 1/2 level teaspoon of baking powder nightly and ca i use cacl along with kalk drip to keep ca at 440. ( dissoved in RO/Di water firs before addition) My ph runs high 8.5 during the day and around 8.1 low at night. a bit high for some people but the rute indicators are the health of my live stock.
