Molybdenum is a metal that is important for certain biochemical processes that organisms carry out.
It is one of the things that Ron tested in his water analysis article. He showed it to be present in most aquarium water, but I have not verified the accuracy of those tests myself, and I presently do not know if it is a useful supplement or not. I don't presently add it, but am open to changing that if more data becomes available.
