I've mail ordered pH increase/decrease products (Seachem Alkaline Buffer and Acid Buffer) but until the shipment arrives I need to decrease the pH slightly. Is there a short term alternative since I'd rather not buy at a store in the meantime if unnecessary?

A few items I have on hand and have been considering are boric acid powder or vinegar.

Thanks.

wmj100- :welcome:

Calcium products won't lower your pH, although they will not raise alk and therefore not raise it as supplements either.

What is your pH wmj100?? Is it really in need of lowering? I would do a couple of water changes with high quality RO/DI water and that should bring it into alignment slowly and without shocking anything. I have never seen a moderately high pH cause any negative effects quickly.
