I decided to go for it and make the switch from B-inoic to Mr. Randy's homemade three part. I cuoldnt find Dowflake here in Denver so I got a 50# bag of Peladow. I just wanted to share some questions and concerns and see what some other folks thought.
For starters when I opened the bag an poured it into a bucket for storage I noticed a good amount of stuff that DID NOT look like CaCl. Some stuff that like brittle bits of black glass covered with rust, and other pellets that where of odd colors. :?
Anyhow.. I went ahead and disolved 2 cups in a gallon of RO/DI water, shook, waited, and shook somemore. Now for issue #2 .... After I let sit for an hour I noticed what looked like a brown, rusyt looking sluge floating to the top of the container. Any ideas???
I also thought of a way to check the calcium concentration of the new solution. I dilute 1ml of the stock into 200ml of RO/DI and Titrate as usual then multiply times 200. ie. (Calc titration of 220ppm=stock concentration of 44,000ppm. )
