I read your outstanding supplementation articles, but unfortunately, I'm a nursing professor with basically no background in chemistry. Would you mind if I asked for some advice specific to my situation? Hope this is OK in this forum - I'm new. I have a 32 gallon soft-coral reef with 50 lbs or more of live rock and 4 small fish. I do monthly 30% water changes (would you suggest less more often?). What would be the most efficient method for me to supplement calcium and alkalinity? How often should I test? Would it be worthwhile to test for and supplement magnesium?
